James Brown

The Godfather of Soul and the “Hardest working man in showbiz”, died on Christmas… An influential musical artist who’s hits spanned, not years, but decades. From the 60’s on up, he was influencing music and musicians all over. From hip hop, soul, jazz, blues, funk, rock and roll… He was inevitably inducted to the Hall of Fame. Despite rough patches with the law, he was always known to have a good heart, and in fact, last Friday was on top of his annual toy drive…

There is no doubt that James Joseph Brown, Jr. (May 3, 1928 – December 25, 2006) was the inspiration for many artists, singers, and even non-artist the world over.

A towering figure in postwar American music, for over 40 years James Brown has written, produced, and performed some of the most compelling R&B ever recorded.
